What Is the Importance Of Hajj In Islam?
Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and is obligatory on every Muslim to perform once in a lifetime. If they are healthy and can afford it. It is the Islamic ritual that unites all the Muslims belonging from different caste, race, color, language. Hajj shows that all Muslims have unity and harmony among themselves. Marriage has great importance in Islam as it is the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W). And we as Muslims follow Allah’s messenger in every field of life as he is a role model for us. Allah’s last Prophet said
“No house has been built in Islam more beloved in the sight of Allah than through marriage”.
So, from this Hadith, we can note that Nikkah has great importance in Islam.

Many people get confused between the Farz (religious duty) and Sunnah (the way of the Prophet Muhammad), wonders that which should be performed first the Hajj or Nikkah? Well, Hajj is obligatory and should be performed once in a lifetime, if you qualify for Hajj, (you are healthy and can afford finances) then this will be the right time to perform Hajj.
What if I have a proposal and Hajj at the same time? Should I get married first or should I perform Hajj?
Hajj should always be your priority but it all depends on the situation for instance, you can get married in a small ceremony and then make the intention to go to Hajj. Or else, you can delay your marriage plans and can prioritize Hajj over it.
Can A Women Perform Hajj Without A Mahram?
Hajj is obligatory to perform once in life however it has some code of conduct that must be followed to acquire the Blessings of Allah. One of the most important rules is that a girl cannot perform Hajj alone, without a Mahram. She needs a companion to perform this Islamic ritual. This can be her Father, Brother, Husband, Father in Law, Grandfather, and kinds of relations, to whom she does not get married.
Can We Do Nikkah While Wearing Ihram During Hajj?
No, you cannot do Nikkah while wearing the Ihram. As in Islam, there are some rules and regulations of performing Hajj that must be followed to complete this annual Islamic pilgrimage properly. Following are some of the Islamic rules concerning the performance of Nikkah while wearing Ihram.
- It is forbidden on a pilgrim to do marriage in the state of Ihram.

Meher (Dower) is the basic right of every woman that a husband must give to her wife at the time of Nikkah or after that. In Islam, it is stated that a woman can demand Meher (Dower) as per her wish but while demanding it, she should consider the capacity of man. If he can, then it becomes the responsibility of his spouse to make her perform Hajj.
